Phil is an excellent instructor, I had 3-4 persistent silly faults and had failed many tests with 3 different instructors, lost all faith in the system and was ready to quit. Called Roadworks loved Phil's positive attitude on the phone and with patient tuition we cured the fault's and I passed my test. I would not hesitate in recommending him as an instructor.

Called roadworks spoke to Phil, very honest and informative. Called a few more driving schools, and called Phil straight back! Booked me in with Dave and the rest is history! Call them now!!

had 3 instructors, one turned up now and again, the other shouted, and the 3rd was useless!! nearly gave up but my friend said call phil. patient calm and turned up! never let me down and i was very happy with every lesson a brilliant instructor!

met phil at a petrol station, asked him about an intensive course. he said do you want the truth or what you WANT to hear?, (as I had asked him a question, but would not let him answer it until he said that!!!) he was very honest about what had to be done, unlike the other schools i had spoken too. I called him and booked the next day! great lessons and passed no problem! would have wasted my money if he wasnt honest, cant thank him enough!!!

I READ 85% OF ROADWORKS WORK IS RECCOMENDATIONS, I CAN SEE WHY! PASSED WITH DAVE AND DID PASS PLUS WITH PHIL. BOTH EXCELENT INSTRUCTORS, WHO HAVE BOTH SINCE STARTED TO TEACH A COUPLE OF MY FRIENDS. BOTH NEED NEW JOKES THOUGH!!! (JOKING!) THANKS ROADWORKS!!!!

Called loads of schools and just didn't know what to do, called roadworks and really liked the honesty about what was achievable, booked a trial lesson, then paid for 20! Things went much better I ever expected. Thanks Dave for everything.

Yes I thought I knew best!! Phil was honest from the start, but I knew better (not!!). Went to another instructor who was a yes man, just told me what I wanted to hear. Took my test and failed miserably, even weeks before I knew things were not looking good. My instructor then blamed the examiner and told me to take another test straight away! I knew there was no way I could pass. I called Phil back, and asked him to forgive me and teach me properly. His professionalism was fantastic, he just wanted me to pass and everything fell into place. I have now passed and should never have left him, or took that other test!! I was nowhere near test driving standard. Thanks Phil, wish I'd listened to you earlier, so does my mum!!!

Had an instructor that just thought my lessons were a social occasion, progress was not a word I can use! After 20 mostly wasted lessons asked my friends about a new instructor and called Dave. Can't thank him enough!! Wish I called him first. Need an instructor? Call Dave now!!

Dave was full up when I called him, waited 4 weeks to start my lessons, but worth the wait, as my friend had said! My initial instructor was like a rude passenger, shouted and was always late. Spent 10 mins on his mobile and then he asked me to stop at either the shops, bank and newsagents, and that was a GOOD lesson! Sacked him!!! Dave was fantastic he never let me down once and never took me to a shop! Every lesson was great and I'm now passed!

I was extremely nervous even calling a driving school, but would just like to share with all that from start to finish I was taught a pace that suited me, and as my confidence grew, things really started to take shape for me. Looking back things were done in a very clever way. never dreamed I could drive on my own. Thanks Roadworks!

The following is not a passed pupil (yet) but a major request to appear on this page.

Had to leave this note. My son is having lessons with Roadworks and after 22 lessons I expected a test (especially as I am paying!). Questioned Phil as he collected my son, he calmly said "Got an hour? Jump in the back and have a look" I was stunned. Got in and all I can say is glad I had my lessons years ago. Never realised how things had changed. My son is in very safe hands, no-way I could teach a teenager in todays traffic and I'll leave Phil to his work!! Very impressed with his teaching influence. A humbled teenagers dad!
